Lewis County pilgrim looking to head east
« on: September 09, 2017, 09:22:31 PM »
Thought I might throw this out their! I'm a single father living with my son just situated just off the I-5 corridor. A blacktail hunter for 14 yrs running and no end in sight! I have had the opportunity to hunt Idaho and take a couple exceptional whitetail bucks several years ago. But I do long to chase a muley and or atleast get a single mule deer hunt under my belt. The only dilemma I have is logistics.. I have several friends who hunt and plan to hunt destinations like entiat, grande ronde, etc on the east side and I have been invited on such hunts which is awesome! But with a young son at home I don't have the opportunity to get away for 4 or 5 days at a time nor do I want to while he is so young. What I can possibly do are some short overnight possibly 2 night camps within 2.5 and 3 hrs away. From where I'm situated that would put me near naches and Yakima. With surrounding units like bumping, rimrock and umtanum. In short, I am probing for a poll to either talk me in or talk me out of it? Just not in range of the higher density muley ranges but at the very least I would like the opportunity to chase around and see them on the hoof! Getting the chance see chase a wally would be incredible but I'm keeping my bar set low. Just looking for a fun weekend hunt. I appreciate it.
